Connecting Colorado

Why do I want one?

  • Get paid* to learn
  • Get paid* to gain real-world experience
  • Add credibility and depth to applications and resumes. With trends moving away from standardized testing for college applications, these are a great way to stand out!
  • Gain competence and confidence as you embark on your path forward... The world beyond high school and college is often much less intimidating after experiences like these.

* Some internships are unpaid.

IECRM Apprenticeships

Anesthesia Tech

Selected students would function in 2 roles: the first would be as an anesthesia technician in the operating room at Children’s Hospital Colorado. In order to successfully fill this role, they would be trained by a combination of outstanding anesthesia technicians and anesthesiology staff. The second role would be to shadow anesthesiologists taking care of patients undergoing different types of surgery such as cardiac surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, urological procedures, ENT procedures, and general surgery. In this capacity, students would be paired with an attending anesthesiologist for the day and would learn about what their day-to-day job entails.
